How My Journey Began
I love sleep! Who doesn’t? I remember how distressing it was when I had my children and I didn’t know how to interpret their sleep needs. It was such a puzzle! Once they were grown, I discovered a passion for working with newborns and new families as a postpartum doula.
I learned so much about newborn sleep - how it develops, and how it changes over time. There were many times when I was able to put practices in place for parents that helped their babies develop good sleep hygiene, self-soothing skills, and routines that resulted in healthy, well-rested babies.
As I continued my education in sleep science, I realized that I enjoyed helping parents achieve these “good sleep” results. I first pursued certification as a Child Night Sleep Coach, which was helpful, but only served to whet my appetite for even more information! The logical next step was to become a Certified Child Sleep Consultant.
When I researched the various organizations in this field, I discovered the right fit for me at the Family Sleep Institute. Their philosophy and emphasis on the science of sleep, while using all available methods of sleep coaching, was ideal for the direction I was going.
And now, having worked with many families and children, from newborns to age 6, including children with special needs, I can say with confidence that I can meet you where you are on your sleep journey with your child, and guide, encourage, and assist your family in achieving the goal of a good night’s sleep!
“Thank you so much for all that you have done to care for our boy. We know it hasn’t been easy, but for us it has been SO worth it. You jumped in during our most difficult days and helped us begin to turn his sleep around. We are so grateful to you!”
